Ignacio and Diego have complementary careers in renowned business institutions that have provided them with extensive experience in strategy, finance, and operations. Their previous roles include management consulting, private equity, and investment management.
Diego Gavito is a founding partner of Vuelo Capital. He has 9 years of experience in Management Consulting. Before founding Vuelo Capital, Diego was a Senior Manager at Kearney, a top management consulting firm. During his time at Kearney, Diego led the execution of multiple commercial due diligences in various industries. He presented buy-side clients with market and target competitive positioning assessments, and recommendations on whether to go ahead with investments. Additionally, he led the execution of multiple EBITDA improvement projects focused on implementing cost reduction opportunities for some of the largest retailers, CPGs, and shipping carriers in Mexico. Outside of Kearney, Diego has worked as a financial analyst at Amazon, and is a board member at Grupo Procsa, a privately held developer of vertical and horizontal housing. Diego holds a BSc in Business Engineering with honors from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) and an MBA with honors from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.
Ignacio Rivero is a founding partner of Vuelo Capital. He has 9 years of experience in Private Equity and Investment Management. Prior to Vuelo, Ignacio was a VP at LCA Capital, an investment group with controlling interests in various companies. At LCA Capital, Ignacio was a board member in five portfolio companies, including U-Storage (a self-storage owner and operator), and CBX (a skybridge connecting the city of San Diego with the Tijuana Airport in Mexico), as well as an observer in Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico’s (abbreviated as “PAC” on the New York Stock Exchange) operating committee. Ignacio was also involved in sourcing, negotiating, and closing several investments across asset classes, geographies, and structures. Most recent transaction experience include a Series B round in a Proptech startup and a PIPE investment in a digital transformation SPAC. Ignacio holds a BA in Business Administration, and a BSc in Computer Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) where he graduated with honors and an MBA from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.
